Professorship of Law

The Professorship of Law is part of the Center for Law & Economics within the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences at ETH Zurich. The professorship focuses on banking, financial services, corporate governance and EU integration. Through research projects, workshops and teaching activities, the professorship participates in the international discourse in the areas mentioned. It co-organizes the Workshop & Lecture Series in Law & Finance, which regularly brings leading internationally well-known experts from all over the world to Zurich.

Congratulations to Dr. Damian Kozbur

This summer, Damian Kozbur, a former Postdoctorial Fellow and current Research Affiliate at the Center for Law & Economics at ETH Zurich, was appointed Assistant Professor of Econometrics at the department of economics of the University of Zurich. Damian holds a PhD in econometrics and statistics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His research focuses on inference in high dimensional econometric models, big data and the applications of econometrics in development. Read more

"3D Printing, IP and Innovation Policy” by Stefan Bechtold published

The article “3D Printing, Intellectual Property and Innovation Policy” by Prof. Stefan Bechtold has been published in the August 2016 issue the International Review of Intellectual Property and Competition Law. The article analyzes the role intellectual property has played in the development of 3D printing and assesses the implications for innovation policy in general. Read more

ETH Zurich is currently looking for two new law professors with an interdisciplinary orientation (one tenured and one tenure-track position). They will conduct research in one of the following areas: law & technology; law, finance & risk; law, institutions & governance; or law & behaviour. Their research methodology should lie at the intersection of law and social science (law and economics, law and political science, law and psychology, etc.). Read more
